Review on πŸ”Œ Portable Air Compressor: Mini Tire Inflator with 150PSI, Rechargeable Battery, LCD and LED Emergency Light by Joe Kokenge

Great little inflator for bikes, motorcycles or small car tires, low PSI car tires

First of all, this portable blower seems to be very well constructed, reliable and very easy to use. Comes with a charging cable and several different tips for inflating balls, mattresses, etc., and a short extension that works well with bike, car, or truck tires. There is also a row of LEDs at the end which is very nice. It has a 12V cigarette lighter socket, but no cigarette lighter cable is included. It only works wirelessly if you don't have your own cigarette lighter cable with a suitable plug at the other end. I tried it on a bike at just 40psi and it worked really well. Inflates quickly and deflates instantly at 40psi. I tried this on a small car tire inflated to 30psi and it cut right at 30psi every time. Although the gauge went down to 29, when checked with a gauge it still read 30psi. I then tried this on my RV tire that needs to be inflated to 70psi (I ran out of 5psi and was about to inflate it back to 70). The unit claims to be able to reach 150psi so I didn't think that would be a problem. Unsurprisingly, it was a little slow to inflate, but once it reached around 67-68 psi it stalled on the display, although it continued to inflate. After about a minute I found that it just stopped at 68psi, although it was still rocking, so I ended up turning it off. When I checked the tire with a gauge, it was actually up to 72psi. So it ballooned past the point I set it to and wouldn't turn off and the display wouldn't read properly. So I sent it back and they immediately sent me another one which I received today. Just wanted to see if I have a defective device. I did the exact same procedure with it and it behaved the same as the other one. Worked great on a 30psi bike and car tire but the higher pressure tire did the same, stopping at 68 on the display but kept pumping and going up to 73 after I stopped it and checked it with the gauge. I then tried this on my pickup tire, which is actually larger than RV tires but can handle a lower 40psi pressure. This did the same thing, the gauge stuck at 37-38psi and kept rocking without closing. turned off and he pumped over 40psi. So I still think this is a great little portable inflator. I'll keep it in my little compartment for emergencies and tire inflation and use it on bikes and motorbikes. In a pinch it could be used on an RV tire, but you have to understand that the gauge can't keep up with that higher PSI. I don't know how it works with a high pressure bicycle tire. . I don't have one that uses that much pressure. In this case it can work perfectly and turn off when it should. Maybe it's just the volume of air in the big tires doing something about it. So, Emptor's word of caution, this is a good little portable gas generator once you know its limitations.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
