I used this to connect the display port to my graphics card, used the display port for an HDMI cable and then connected it to the DVI port. Seems a long way off, but I already have multiple devices using the Displayport and HDMI on the monitor, so using a third device became possible. and with a quick disconnect option to use HDMI on a second large TV. Best of all, it's still recognized and defaults to 2560 x 1440 (native monitor resolution/maximum resolution) with excellent image quality at 60Hz.
