Soft and cozy, warm, and very well made

Lately, the evenings have been less than 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Yet, my 9 year old is still swimming. She loves swimming, but she really doesn't like being cold. It's her least favorite thing about swimming. So she was THRILLED when I gave her this swim parka. As soon as she put it on, she said it was so soft inside and warm (she said it felt "like an electric blanket set to medium"). That was before she went into the pool. That night, it was 26 degrees. When we left the swimming pool, she immediately put on the swim parka and had the biggest smile on her face- because she was finally warm and comfortable. The sizing is very generous. She wears a size 10-12, she's pretty slim with very long legs and the bottom of the parka hit just below mid-shin level. It has lots of pockets and a really nice stuff-sack to store the parka in when not in use. The last thing I want is another big coat to hang in our coat closet, so it was really nice that the parka packed neatly into this drawstring sack. The plush lining is incredibly soft, and warm. Softer than anything I own for myself, and the shell of the parka even though it felt thin- it was very effective in blocking the wind and insulating my little swimmer. I could easily see my child wearing this parka for another two years or so.When she arrived at the pool, one of the instructors had an adult-sized swim parka, but my daughter's felt much softer and warmer inside. If using this parka in warmer climates- it might be too warm. For chillier areas or conditions where your swimmer needs to stay warm- this coat will be ideal.
