First of all the installation is very easy if you remove the trim from the tailgate. There's nothing wrong with removing the panel once you've seen how to do it. Find a video on YouTube. It will also help you open the door. Fasteners fall out easily. I used a carpenter's crowbar to get close to them. You then open the door to remove the last few screws on the underside to completely remove the panel. Then replace the latch. Been using it for a few weeks now, works great! Much cheaper than at the dealer.
