Let me first say that overall I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this monocular, especially for the price. Since I really only have one negative comment, I'll start with this one. The little tripod that came with it really wasn't worth the struggle. If you can get it to hold the position, never touch the rig again or it will loosen and tip over. This would be fine for display, but not good for trying to display or using for photos. That's literally the only downside, and honestly that's a minor complaint. what to love The price was pleasing, and the optics are really good. It's well built and the focus and zoom functions are solid and effective. It took a bit of effort to line up the phone with the viewing window, but once that happened I started taking photos. The photos I've attached show two different scenarios, one photographing hummingbirds and the other photographing tits eating seeds. In both setups I took one picture without the monocular and another with the monocular. I haven't changed the zoom settings on my phone, so you're seeing the true "before and after" in both cases. It does an excellent job of getting sharp close-ups and I'm looking forward to trying it out with some insects and I also enjoy photographing flowers. One note: I got a round image at 1x zoom on my iPhone, but zooming to 1.4x on my phone captured the photos you see here. I left the same zoom for pictures without a monocular. If you get an image that "looks down the tunnel" when connecting, try zooming in a bit with your phone to crop it, or just crop the images after you've taken them. I'm very glad I have this and look forward to using it. a lot of.
