Love love love this car

If I could give this car 10 stars I would! Love love love this car! So much so that I bought two! I bought one of these and a second one a week later and a Grace quilt frame to use one of these. What's good about this car? This is significant. It is a heavy and workhorse. There's no plastic, it weighs a lot if that bothers you. It has an all-metal body and components. This car is fast when you want it, it reacts very quickly, you want it to speed up or slow down, it's like Johnny on the spot. This machine does not wear out. I sew and review machines every day and this machine will get the job done. That is beautiful. Everything is bright white, very clean. The view is fantastic. The head of the machine is conical, see photo. This tapered head provides an unobstructed view of your project. It's great because so many cars now have so much electronics that the head of the car is huge. that hides your project. Quilting with this machine is easy thanks to the tapered head and high visibility. PERFECT stitches, this machine does just that. straight stitch but does it perfectly. You can't screw it up if you roam free, it's ok. Do you know how many machines end up with long stitches, eyelash tension issues, or broken threads when trying to do an FMQ and it's so difficult to get the tension right? Well, not with this kid. Look I did an FMQ with this machine and it is MADE for the task. First, the knob at the top of the head is used to adjust the presser foot pressure, which means I can even use FMQ with a regular attachment foot if I want to. (and I have). I had no problems with tension or lashes. This machine makes FMQ easy. The thread holder is excellent, nothing gets tangled. And I just leave the bobbin on the second set of spindles to wind the bobbin all the time so I don't have to pull the thread out of the needle. It's quiet for the car. Automatic thread cutting is great! You swing your leg back, it cuts. Not only does it cut with a flick of the foot, it also leaves the tiniest tail! And every time it starts sewing perfectly. This eliminates the need to cut long ends and remove the spool to lengthen the line to force it to restart, as is often the case with other machines. he catches the cocks and starts over each time. I love that when I use the cut button I have a tiny quarter inch cock. No cutting needed and it saves thread. I love that I can cut the thread with my FEET! The toggle lever also means you can cut and lift without taking your hands off the machine. No need to manually raise the presser foot or manually press the trim button. I just can't find anything "wrong" about this car. The lighting could be better but it's not bad and WAY better than my Elna and Brother machines. Although more light would be great, it has more lighting than most machines. You MUST oil this machine every time you use it. BUT in my world that's a plus, not a detriment. Why? Since you can use it to service your machine, you should know that it is properly lubricated. These self-lubricating machines end up having problems and you can't do it yourself, you have to take the machine to service. I am shocked at the low price of this machine for the joy of using it. It's the best car I've ever had and the cheapest. I have a 6000.00 Elna that doesn't go with this Juki, although of course Elna does all the fancy stuff, zigzags, embroidery etc. But I loathe actually sewing on Elna because of the big head and poor lighting. How about the Grace SR2 frame? It's just as cool as it is on the sewing table. Simple, simple works, simply no problem. If you are a quilter and want a PERFECT QUARTER INCH seam, this machine is for you. If you are a quilter and want to sew simply, perfectly, easily, reliably and with joy. this is the machine for it. This machine is a PARTNER, not a tool. It really is a quilter's partner. Too bad I didn't get any of the theses years ago. They would NEVER convince me that a machine could improve my quilting after 20 years of experience, but this machine has made my quilts crisper and better. People think I'm crazy, they say. but . but. just make a straight seam. who only wants a straight stitch machine. then use it and buy one.
