Very thin plastic as others have mentioned but fits securely and looks good. In any case, it doesn't have to be thick plastic - it won't be damaged, it just covers the metal bracket. Another review said they didn't get the right amount of parts. Mine must have been the same type except I have (2) extra bracket covers and (1) extra hinge caps - if I had a different hinge cap I could build a second car! Cheap plastic, but in this case it's worth it. Walmart would be proud to have them.
