These are an interesting set of knives that are good for party situations, or where there are trays with cheeses and other similar appetizers. I like the wide handles, which allow for a sturdy and steady grip. As for cutting sandwiches and breads, I give them mixed reviews, as it really depends upon the consistency of the bread. They tended to "tear" the softer breads, but cut nicely through the crustier ones. Overall, not the best quality knives, but for the low price, I can't expect much more.
