I bought this for my 6 year old son and it's a bit big for him but my boy is very slim and around 46 years old. I can say that it is ideal for a 7-year-old boy and may be smaller for an 8-year-old depending on the parameters of the body. Good quality. This is a regular 100% cotton red sweatshirt. So if you wash it in warm/hot water and tumble dry on high it will shrink. I haven't washed it in a year but could wash it to shrink it. Overall this is a good sweatshirt and my son loves it.
