Bought as a gift for a kid who was rude with phones. This will hold the device directly against them. The clip that goes through the body of the phone is strong. Doesn't break even after pulling it off several times. The strap is thick, which is good. The 6 year old who bought it for was very excited that it could be hanging around his neck. I think it should be automatic when a child or even a young person or an old person has a phone. You definitely won't lose your phone while it's hanging on you!
