Not sure what $40 is worth?
Although they offer a USB cable connection at both ends, you must make an electrical connection to the device to charge it - this is not specified in the instructions. It is written that it is waterproof, but the instructions say that it cannot be wetted. Did someone who doesn't speak English write the instructions? I haven't had it long so I can't rate it.
