I've never wanted to use either of these collars and I'm still not thrilled about using them on my two dogs. However, I had just moved into a very quiet senior living complex and one of the first days of my stay my neighbor stopped by my door and complained about my dogs barking when I wasn't home. I have bought collars and they have worked. One of my dogs is a very persistent barker so she barks a few more times, but the other learned very quickly not to bark, so much so that she doesn't bark even without a collar. I used setting 2 - this is the lowest setting, which is still a bit shocking. I haven't used it long enough to comment on the battery life, and there's no remote control. I wasn't interested in the remote control because I want to wear these collars when I'm not at home.
