Cartridge arrived safely and appears to be well made. Unfortunately the installation failed and I damaged it in the process. After you remove the old cartridge (I recommend buying a puller), clean the inside of the tube where the cartridge fits in with a small wire wheel or make a tube out of sandpaper and thread it in and out and flush it then off . clean water, then make sure the new cartridge is coated with waterproof lube. The new cartridge should slide in fairly easily and even rotate left and right. If you really have to put some effort into a new cartridge, then something is wrong. In this case it happened to me, but since I prepared the hole poorly, I can't blame this cartridge. I pushed it in with some force and it worked but didn't turn off completely. A small but steady stream of water flowed from the tub spout the entire time. So I had to go to the store, buy a real Moen 1225 and a puller and a small tube of grease hanging next to the cartridge. I pulled this out and the rubber seal on one side was damaged. I prepared the hole better and the original part held up without much effort. So in the end I don't know if it was ALL due to lack of preparation or if that cartridge was too thick. I'd say give it a try if you don't want or can't get a Moen cartridge (I suppose they'll send you a free one if you have time to wait), make preparations and it'll probably be GOOD.
