We placed our Garmin GPS units "in" the dash above the speedometer area; This makes it much less obvious that it's in the car (to thieves) and is a natural place to check while driving. But this is where conventional suction cups don't work so well. These mounts use excellent 3M gaskets (be sure to clean the surface before sticking!) and the variety of arm lengths, huh? really makes for the perfect variety of options in any car. Garmin should place them prominently in their documentation as a reliable option. I've never had to remove them on any car so I really don't know how easy it will be because the 3M adhesive is so good. But the GPS device can simply be pulled out, no problem.
