As a licensed therapist I was interested in Graston's technique but given the research and reasoning I believe Graston based his protocol on the original old gouache. However, tools and training costs are incredibly expensive for Graston. So for now I'll stick with the ancient wisdom of Gua Sha. As for the tools, they're very smooth, easy to hold, and guide the fabric underneath incredibly well. It's amazing how easy it is to feel for tissue constrictions, lumps, bumps and bumps. So far I have had similar experiences with it as with mason jars. Where there is a problem you will see a change in skin color, where there is no problem the skin tissue remains the same color or slightly pink. I've had the tool for a few weeks now. Clients I've used these tools with have had positive feedback, with one client specifically asking if I could "repeat" on their next visit. I use the smaller tool on my own fingers and find the results no less remarkable. I would recommend this set and am considering purchasing another set for use outside of the office.
