Awesome product so far.
Using a cheap fire pit, I have used multiple methods to protect the deck. However, while these other options work, they can be an eyesore. The issue is not the fire but the heat coming from the bottom of the fire pit. This mat protects the deck from the heat and looks good as well. Either way, this isn't meant to protect the deck from a fire, so a protective screen should be on top if you plan to use it on a wooden deck.
