We have a house-shaped spiked cage with sloping sides designed for catching seed pods. We quickly found that the sloping sides also picked up all the bird droppings. We looked for perches that would allow our cockatiel to be in the center of the cage so the droppings wouldn't fall into the seed traps. We bought a medium model for our cockatiel. Installation required some ingenuity as the top of the cage is sloped. We ended up threading two dowels through the bars on the roof of her cage, slipping the threaded part in between and tightening the wing nut on top. It took her a week to get used to it, but now she's jumping from branch to branch. , and all the feces fall in the middle of the cage.
