Review on Well Weng Dual Monitor Riser: Adjustable Length & Angle Stand with 3-Shelf Storage Organizer in Bamboo by Darlene Malone

Does anyone do quality control or just think the buyer will do it and not return defective products? Bamboo boards are well made and seem strong enough for the load they will carry. The flat sides of the bamboo are well finished but the edges could be better finished as they are not as smooth and are even rough in some places. The screw holes are precisely drilled for easy installation. The holes in the center board for the slide pins are too big as the pins won't stay in place. However, a drop of Elmer's glue keeps them in place; only use a little, then the pins will not fall out. The eight screws that come with it are the worst quality I've ever seen. Two had oblong heads instead of round ones, and the Phillips slots were not properly clamped and were unusable. Luckily I had a few screws of the right size in my tool box. Of course, if there were quality checks, it was only to make sure there were 8 screws in the box, not to check that all 8 could be used. The goods arrived well packaged and there was no damage in transit. It was a double pack. The parts in the first box were wrapped in bubble wrap, although the bubble wrap could have been a little thicker. The second box fitted snugly to the inner box and the two layers of corrugated cardboard were well protected. Overall, this monitor stand is of average quality. A little more attention to detail on the edges of the bamboo board, correct hole size for the sliding pins and better quality screws would have given this product a 5 star rating rather than the 3 I gave it. About 2.67 stars actually, but had to be rounded up to 3. Good enough not to come back, but bad enough not to brag to friends. It struck me that most mainland Chinese products have no quality control and are inferior to Taiwan-made products, which still have decent quality control to weed out bad apples.
