easy setup, suitable for KVM switches

Bought this KVM switch to switch between development PC, gaming PC and work laptop . Pros: Works as intended, easy setup, shortcuts to flip screens. Good design, light. Responsive technical support. Cons: DVI cables have two small dots above the slots. very annoying when most PC adapters do not allow this. You CANNOT use any adapter hardware between KVM and PC without the resolution dropping significantly. The resolution I get from the KVM switch is worse than the same monitor connected directly to the PC (meaning the screen isn't as sharp). I worked with TrendNet tech support and we couldn't figure out why one monitor was less clear than the other. If you are using TrendNet and connect to a computer, the computer turns off. If you need high resolution, I recommend you to switch to the HDMI version of the KVM switch.

Pros
  • SUPPORTED OS: KVM switch supports Windows, Linux, Unix and Mac OS
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
