The connection fits, but the power supply comes from the previous generation.

The product works just like a regular MDI adapter plugged into a USB 2.0 Type B jack. It doesn't deliver enough power/current for the 9V at 3A (27W) required to power most modern devices. I think the MDI port just doesn't deliver more than 27W of power. But if so, then this product is DEFINITELY unnecessary. The seller also noted that the length of the product is almost 1 meter. Its length is 20 inches or 0.5 meter.
