We only ski and snowboard every two or three years so we don't have to keep them on the roof rack all the time. We also don't need a $350 set of popular ski racks. They're inexpensive, work great, and are easy to put on and take off. My only concern is that you must have a key to open and close the switches, not just lock and unlock. I don't know if it's similar to other brands or if it's a necessary safety feature, but I'm uncomfortable toggling back and forth with the key to close the switch. In general I am satisfied with the purchase.
