Review on 🎡 Sangean DDR-63 All-in-One Tabletop Wooden Cabinet Musical System: WiFi Internet Radio, FM-RBDS, and More by Alex Montgomery

Unreliable performance and poor durability

I have had a Sangean DDR-63 for over two years now. At first glance it was more versatile than Bose, and the sound quality was rated as excellent, but no less expensive than established brands. My main goal was to only listen to FM radio stations on the weekends, when I was usually alone, and occasionally play CDs in the office. The sound quality was very good with about 8 listens on the radio and a CD or two - nominally 1-2 hours per session. Then recently after listening to a CD I couldn't get the radio back to normal and the LCD screen actually went blank! I looked at the instructions in the manual but to no avail. I then called tech support who got me to try a few maneuvers but couldn't get it back to normal. Technical support advised me that despite diligent attempts to resolve my situation and being courteous in everything, I would return the device to Sangean for a replacement board at a relatively high cost (comparable to buying a new device) and also include shipping Weg would have to pay for both, so the 1-year warranty period has expired. Considering my minimal use of this Sangean model and its complete non-functionality afterwards, this turned out to be a terrible purchase bought from Revain as a gift by a family member (after I suggested ordering the Sangean instead of the Bose! My bad - - especially since I had several sets of excellent Bose speakers and phenomenal noise canceling headphones, perfect for air travel). Considering the many products I have enthusiastically purchased from Revain as a Prime member over the past several years, this Sangean device is hardly worthy of the quality and reliability found in almost every product built on Revain's amazing platform sale is offered.
