Not suitable for everything

I bought this inverter (1500W continuous) for my RV. Specifically for running my portable AC, the AC output is 7 amps and 800 watts and nothing else is connected and with a brand new battery. The power was turning on and off every 5 seconds as if overloaded. Works great for small items. I think 1500 watts are combined for both outputs, so 750 watts each
