The sides are made of transparent thick material that has been foiled before inserting the eyelets. I read a review about it but rejected it. It is genuine and very difficult to remove around the edges and grommets. This is a problem for birds as they may try to eat the film that you cannot remove. The assembly took about 1 minute. It took several hours to remove the plastic.
