I needed a tripod and chose the one that Amazon called a best seller. This is a pretty straight forward solution that I don't need to explain to you. If you're deciding between this and something about $8 cheaper, get this one because after a month of use it's really obvious that it's a bestseller because it does the job. The problems I have was: - On the second day of use, the bottom handle got stuck. I still don't know how or why. My friend fiddled with it for 5 minutes and fixed it and it hasn't happened since. - The minimum height is still quite high. The frame will be around knee height when all the extensions are rolled up, which is really too high for some of the shots I want. In the lowest position, the legs are so far apart that it is impossible to sit up from above. lots of finishes - it was initially important to my needs but I've given up using it that way and it's fine, but I've dropped it (and my phone) a few times while figuring it out. - You cannot tilt your phone when it is in landscape mode. I tried gently tilting the phone in the mount and it worked, but I will be purchasing extensions to hold the phone in addition to the two that come with the tripod. This is clearly a standard connector, so you should be able to use any standard tripod or selfie stick accessory you might already have. shorter than you think. I get the most flattering angles when the phone is no higher than my neck when I'm standing directly in front of it. The second you take a step back, you get a lot of space at the top that probably shouldn't be there. I'm used to my 6" friend taking photos of me and often the angles aren't great - that's because it's too big and the right size to take my photo, more like the middle his chest looks like in front of his face. Now that I have this tripod, I can make all of these decisions myself, and I could save a lot of time by ignoring my needs. Well like myspace corners lol. It just looks way better, shorter than you think.
