Review on ARRIS SURFboard SB6190 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem: Cox, Spectrum, Xfinity & more - White by Bruce Garner

I am a single woman who is reportedly having internet problems and is refusing to rent a modem from my ISP. I believe that our family actively uses the Internet. I'm a photographer backing up/uploading large photos to the cloud. I have a son who plays, plays a lot. We also cut the cord, as with everything, the threads. We have 4K TVs and smart devices including Echos and Hue Lights. I have an elderly mother who lives with me and streams HD video several hours a day. In short, the speed and consistency of the internet is important to our family. My son and I are Mac users too. We have two MacBook Pros, two iMacs and a selection of iPads and iPhones. For me it was important that my new modem A.) It's easy to find out. B.) Reliable. C. ) Can support up to 1Gbps as we consider this upgrade. D.) Suitable for Apple/Mac. I have owned this modem for three months now. It was enough to call Mediacom and read the numbers on the bottom of the modem to set it up. Slightly fresh. It seems to work fine with my Airport Router (Apple brand) which is several years old. In fact, this new modem met all my needs with flying colors. I immediately noticed a jump in speed. Our speed tests prior to this new modem typically ranged from 10-30 Mbps measured at various times and locations around the house. Immediately after we hooked everything up, we jumped to 160-300Mbps depending on what we were doing, how much internet we were using and where we were in the house. We love the modem. We only have one internet issue today, but we've narrowed it down to the LG Smart TV we bought for Christmas. It seems that the modem in the TV is at fault as it keeps buffering and stopping, but when you connect another streaming source like APPLE TV to the TV to watch HULU or DirecTV. no problem. So there is no fault with this modem or our Apple router. I would highly recommend buying it, especially if you have one of those $10/month contracts. They pay off in just a few months.
