I thought I wanted to, but I was wrong!
Don't get me wrong. This is a sturdy, well-built cookware. The problem is that it destroys the apples. If you try to make 12 slices, the individual slices will be so thin that they will inevitably fall apart at the bottom of the apple, resulting in a dozen incomplete slices and another dozen chunks. I went back to my 8 slice slicer and just keep this in case I have a wild hair moment and want to snap some apples.
