Rectangular aluminum and plastic rights have a 90 degree angle. The few holes on the aluminum square are great, giving you options on where to clamp. I only wish the clamps were a little longer to accommodate thicker material. I tried using this for a photo frame but the max is about 1 15/16 inches. Of course, the metal shank itself is longer and the manufacturer claims up to 2 1/4 inches, but at that width your plastic nut really has no value and therefore no clamping force. The unrealistic requirement is the reason I deducted a star. Apart from that everything is alright. Just use one of the other clamps for thicker materials. You'll never have enough braces, will you? As for building cabinets or drawers, since I mostly use 5/8 in birch plywood or 3/4 ply, the clamps provided work well. Also find and insert a washer. between the plastic nut and the aluminum block, which makes tightening the clamp easier. I like red. It's (relatively) easy to find in the usual workshop clutter if you're not as disciplined as I am about putting things away when you're done.
