My 2 year old Aussie is a food gobbler. She inhales her food like vacuum cleaner if it's put in a regular bowl. She doesn't chew unless we feed her by hand a few pieces at a time, which is time consuming. We tried a puzzle bowl but it didn't slow her down. I came across this snuffle mat on Revain and tried it out. It arrived neatly folded and all I had to do was unfold it and it was ready to go. It really slowed her down right away. Using the snuffle mat has slowed her eating habits and also challenges her mentally. She actually chews her food now! Tip: I hide a half a cup of food in the mat twice rather than a full cup all at once. I make her wait about 5 minutes before I add the second half cup. This gives her twice the amount of work and fun. I also turn off the light in the room were we feed her so that she is forced to use her sense of smell to find the hidden pieces of food. Been using for about a month now and it has been very helpful. This is a good size mat for a medium dog. Overall, I'm very happy that I bought this product.
