Review on Emerson Ceiling SR400 4 Speed Receiver by Jack Herrera

I bought this along with an Emerson attic fan that I bought elsewhere than amazon.com. The remote control is very easy to install. It connects to incoming power lines (between house wiring and fan wiring) and fits snugly into the bracket that the fan hangs from. Emerson provides you with tons of fan cables so you can easily cut them to the right length for a clean install. The remote and receiver work reliably, which I can't say about some of the Harbor Breeze fans I've bought from Lowes where I've been. You have to constantly buy new batteries, change fan power, and fiddle with button presses to get the fan into a state where the remote responds predictably. Lowes fans also had strange delays, sometimes taking 15 seconds or more for the fan to respond to a command; I haven't had these problems with an Emerson fan. The Emerson remote also uses regular AAA batteries, which are a lot smarter than the Lowes fans I bought that use a weird and expensive little 12V battery. Overall, I'm very satisfied. Satisfied with the quality of Emerson's remote control and cooling fan. The fan is quiet and runs smoothly, and the remote works just as you would expect.
