The sound quality is good for beginners or records that don't have much bass or artists that don't have high voices. The higher the pitch of the voice, the more it sounds like tin or as if they were underwater. If it's for someone just starting out, it's fine as a teenager, or for someone who doesn't need the highest possible sound quality. I switched to a new player because I didn't like the sound of some of the records I'd been listening to. I didn't try connecting external speakers to see if that would help, as built-in speakers can cause the arrow to vibrate and cause sound quality issues. So if you are a beginner this might work well for you until you are ready for a more experienced player.
