it works. I'd say it has some markings and it's not "all white" if you look closely. but it should work for me. I originally got this to hold some of my figures and really thought it would be smaller. it's not like this. it is actually very big when you collect it. The only annoying thing is that there are some parts that don't line up white. Back and bottom of some parts. but since I don't show this area/page I'm not complaining. I'd also like to mention that if you plan on having it, save a few picture books to revisit. I modified the top right bar to be slightly higher than it was originally. My tallest book, bottom right, is about 12 inches tall. and the original height of the top right bar was 11 inches so i had to drill holes higher and it works. he is still strong. I recommend him because he's pretty cute after you put everything together. Just read the product description to make sure it's what you're looking for. The assembly instructions are also very clear.
