Bought these to try as a laundry detergent. My husband likes them better than my homemade laundry detergent. There were two muslin bags included. I used it for my HE washing machine. The poorly written instructions were clear enough that you simply put 4-6 nuts in a bag and soak them in a small container of water for about 10 minutes before throwing it all in the washing machine. Apparently a set of 4-6 nuts is enough for about 4 loads of laundry. I would recommend tying the strings with a double knot so the bag doesn't open up when washed. I don't usually have the patience to wait 10 minutes before dropping a bag, so I started keeping the bag in a small glass of water so it's ready to go. I think this may reduce the load capacity of the nuts. The tricky part is getting the bag out when you take it to the dryer. If they go through the dryer, you can simply rehydrate them in water for 10 minutes. I tried the suggested directions for making the liquid and even tried it on my hair and dishes. I think they work best in the wash but not so bad in other places. That's too watery dishwashing liquid, I thought I should boil more water. Anyway, it's been delayed. Weighing about 1/2 ounce or less for 4 loads, the backpack should be enough for about 450 loads. With one download per day, that's about 15 months. Amazing for the price!
