This is my son's second bike and I think the DB Mini Viper is a great bike. Very well done and I fully assembled and set it up in less than an hour. We've spent quite a bit of time looking at bikes at Walmart, Toys R Us, Target (Razor, Kent, Mongoose, Huffy, etc.) and I really think it's worth the extra money on DB as there's a lot is better built. Quality. Again, I haven't had any assembly issues since growing up with my own bikes, but I agree the assembly instructions and tools provided are TERRIBLE. If you don't have a lot of bike building experience or don't have a set of your own tools you might struggle, but I'm sure you could take it to your local bike shop and ask them to put it together for a few bucks if you get into the jam devices.
