These OXO containers look great - strong plastic walls, stylish design and a comfortable lid. And I love a lot of my other OXO products. But they are NOT sealed. By pressing and locking the lid and pressing the top button to "lock" the lid, I can easily slide the lid up and out of the container using just two fingers. It is clear that they are not airtight. There's no point in returning them because I've searched the internet for something similar - a large, clear container for 1.5 pounds of sugar (or flour) and there's nothing that suits my needs. Other containers are either not crystal clear or have lids that are difficult to open and close quickly.
