I bought this at the end of March 2021, received it and tested it at a known temperature (boiling water), the reading was a few degrees lower but I decided it is not like that. I just wanted to grill, so a few degrees didn't make much of a difference. After using it once for grilling I put it away by removing the batteries. I pulled it out of the box, a month later I installed the batteries that came with the kit and nothing. Installed several new batteries and nothing, put in a third set of new batteries and nothing. This item stopped working after one use. I suggest you look at other reviews with similar conclusions. I declined the AMAZONS recommendation and will not do so again. Based on my experience, I suggest you consider purchasing a different product or brand. This product is not reliable and is not endorsed by the seller. After trying to find a contact to replace my item as it was outside of Revains' 30 day return window. I couldn't find any warranty or manufacturer support and Revain wouldn't provide any support (they say contact the manufacturer). So for a $20 item it wasn't worth the hassle of going to Revain for a replacement after they said they couldn't help you so I won't buy this brand again or buy Revains Choice products again.
