I never leave product reviews and have changed them for myself and many others. The first lasted about 1 week, was replaced and was locked on arrival. I know I see there are a lot of reviews saying they are great so I'm not sure if I only got a few bad ones that came along. I see a lot of people using them and I'm sure you can save a lot of money doing it yourself and the first sign of a problem with them is a clicking noise under the dash. I'm not sure if people know how to reset an installed system or what to do when replacing it, so I'll explain for the dual climate control, which has a temperature gauge in the center and knobs on both. Pages. The manual slide levers are slightly different but similar. So. Once you have it installed, just turn the key to "on" and make sure you see "auto" on the display and make sure you don't touch anything and leave it alone. You will then need to go under the hood to the fuse box and remove the 10 amp "HVAC/ECAS” fuse for at least a minute (note the time). Whichever temperature was originally set, it will automatically reset to 74 degrees on the display, letting you know you've been doing this long enough. You then have to start the car and let it run for about 2 minutes, which in my case is a 2005 Tahoe, which will recalibrate the entire system and ensure you DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THE HVAC HEATER CONTROLS OR BUTTONS. Very important. This will recalibrate ALL mixer flap actuators. After turning off the car after running about 2 minutes, you need to start it again and run for 15 seconds (calculate time) and then turn off. Don't let it run for more than 30 seconds. Very important. Then you're done and you've just recalibrated your entire system. When you need to reset a mixed door operator hub that is out of range. You will see a center line on the blended door operator and a smaller line on each side. If the mixed door drive label on the center hub is out of reach (behind) these two labels, here's what you can try to reset it if it's still possible to get it back in range. You will need a 9 volt battery and put a wire on each side of it. Take the positive battery and connect it to terminal number 5 on the mixer actuator, which is on the far right side. Then connect the negative battery terminal to terminal #7 to close the circuit and check the actuator movement. If the actuator does not move, this indicates that the actuator is against the internal stop in the actuator cage. Then disconnect the negative wire from terminal #7 and apply it to both terminals 6 and 7, then check the actuator's movement in the opposite direction. Then simply hold it over these clamps until the center slot of the mixer motor is between the two outer alignment marks. If it then moves, everything is ready for installation in the vehicle. If it doesn't move then it's stuck and bad like the one I just got. If you hear a click, it also means that the internal gears are worn and need to be replaced. This all sounds complicated, but this is how it's done to recalibrate and retune a blended door operator. Just take your time and measure the time with a stopwatch because you can count fast or slow.
