Update: I removed a star because of the elastic hook holders in the front zip pocket. The hook spacing is very uneven in both rows. Now if you use this space for regular aluminum and steel hooks, everything works fine. But if, like me, you use hooks with ergonomic handles, uneven spacing becomes a problem. I need to buy a hook case to store my ergonomic hooks. Problems aside, this is a good quality, well made bag. Seems to last for years. All goes with my yarn for 50" x 62" Afghan I crochet. Now I have eleven skeins, averaging 7 ounces, sitting on end in my bag. It fits more stuff on top, but for my purposes I prefer to use this bag for one big project at a time. It's much more convenient to have everything in one place and pulling the yarn from the holes at the top makes crocheting even more enjoyable as the yarn is held securely in place and not dangling around. There is also enough space on the outside of the bag to store small items and instructions. The front zipped compartment has plenty of elastic hook loops with a small zipped area for other essentials like scissors, retractable soft tape measure, needle threader, etc. This compartment also has a see-through pocket for other essentials. I put all my bagged yarn needles and carded buttons in here. Conclusion: This is a very nice tote bag that I wish I had owned many years ago. project and for portability to take away.
