Bought these primarily for a gun cabinet and they work great. The battery lasts long, doesn't take long to charge, it's quite bright. I bought another brand that uses AAA batteries and even with good batteries, this one lasts longer and is a bit brighter. I'm glad I bought the rechargeable ones and no longer have to spend money on batteries every two months. I sometimes use in the living room for night lighting and two illuminate my hole in the living room. The motion sensor works great. Just make sure it's completely dark, if there's a little light the motion sensor won't pick it up either.
