Before disassembling old FOBs, make sure the electronics can be replaced
On my Chrysler Crossfire, if I put the electronics and key in new housings, the keys are deprogrammed and the security system is off, the car jumps no longer on and I had to order a new FOB from the manufacturer which a month later still has not replaced the FOB and the dealer cannot trace its whereabouts. (WHAT A NIGHTMARE!) It cost me $789.
