Review on Wix Filter Corp. 46418 Air Filter: Enhancing Air Quality for Optimal Performance by Awiwi Swift

I had a K&N filter in my F150 for about 8 months. After installing it, I noticed some issues that I didn't believe at the time had anything to do with the filter. I had problems that indicated the throttle body and mass air flow sensor, both genuine parts with 200,000 miles on them. they, and the truck seemed fine, worked fine. But I went back to a standard filter and BOY ABOUT BOY. it was day and night. The truck shifts better, has more power and runs smoother. The K&N filter oils most likely did my Mafs sensor and sucked in a lot of unfiltered air resulting in the new one not working 100%. I'm just glad I didn't kill him after I cleaned up and sludge last time. that would make things worse. Lessons learned, don't waste your money on reusable "sports" filters. Will just foul your hot wires on the mass air flow sensor and suck dirty air into your engine for god knows how long. This requires more gas in the process. Quality filters aren't always mesh/washable junk. Even dry ones do not filter pollution. The Wix definitely outperforms anything that isn't a brand new tune intake system. As for the decline, Wix. The best performance and quality in everything. I'm so glad I tried them.
