These socks seem really good. Size M fits on the larger side for a 48 inch 6 year old in a size #13 shoe: the foot is wide and the toe sticks out over the knees. Stretches and provides good full leg compression (my son's legs are skinny) so the sock can be folded down below the knee if needed without rolling. The bright orange color suits a boy too, but reminds me of Pippi Longstocking (which would suit a girl even better :))) The material is dense and provides good shock absorption Overall I'm satisfied
