I use this with a 2015 MacBook Air that I bought after my 2012 MBPro retina was destroyed in an accident (which cost me thousands of dollars in damage and expensive surgery on my right shoulder). This works great as I need to use FireWire, Thunderbolt and Ethernet drives at the same time. Enough power can be passed through to use Ethernet (Apple recognizes it immediately) along with a 1TB SATA/USB 3.0 SSD and a mouse, giving me everything (expansion, storage and network, plus connectivity to FireWire cameras like Sony HDR -FX1 ). I cannot recommend it enough as it works seamlessly on both the OS X side and the Windows 10 side. Also easy and just the right place. Get it if you also need an extra gigabit port for reliability, connectivity, or to build a router.
