My grandkids spent over an hour the first time we got this out of the box just drawing, painting and trying out the different accessories. They have since played with it a number of times. I love that there is plenty of room for all four of them to gather around the mat and have their particular spot to create without infringing on someone else's space. The water aspect of the toy means it is a clean and tidy work space. The worst that can happen is some water finds it's way to the floor and that is easy to wipe up. I also love that they can get it out themselves. They can even fill the water pens themselves if I put a bowl of water in a convenient place. Definitely glad I got this! A great product.
