This vest is of quite good quality for the price. I'm 5'11" and 150 pounds. I ordered a medium size and it fits perfectly once the side lacing is tightened. from the skin of an animal, although I'm not sure what, and the skin is quite thick and elastic. I didn't have to put NeatsFoot on it to make it softer. The right side opens forward with a latch. I don't think I would trust her to hold my pistol in place because the front is open with a single latch. On the left is a deep zip pocket that keeps my wallet safe and a thin nylon pocket with a button for a cell phone.
