I have updated our dining room chandelier by plating the brass with a matte pewter finish and replacing it with clear coated wire. I exchanged the chain and ceiling fittings for new ones. The chandelier is large and has twelve bulbs of 40 watts each. The LEDs work great; the chandelier now consumes 40 watts instead of 480 watts. The glow from these lights is less yellow than the old lamps, which goes well with the updated look. I was also able to add a dimmer to adjust the amount of light in the room. An additional benefit is the reduction of the heat of the chandelier; 480 watts generate a lot of heat that is not needed in Florida. I am very happy with my purchase. Now for the endurance test, I will buy these headlights again soon. I'm in the process of redoing another chandelier in our porch and I'm not thinking of using any other lightbulbs.
