I had high hopes for this product to help with back pain and neck pain. It did not live up to my expectations. The massage consists of two rotating heads that each have a smaller and larger node, so the shiatsu effect is achieved by the clockwise or counterclockwise direction of the heads. The settings on the massaager are on a little box attached to the power cord, and the box is hard to reach when the massager is behind you becasuse the designer didn't put the box in a convenient place. In terms of settings, they worked the OPPOSITE of the description in the instructions. The three setting on my model worked like this:/ = counterclockwise roation with heat0 = off//=clockwise with no heatAnother flaw is that the rotating heads are noisy and too close together. There is also a very hard piece of metal or something connecting the massage heads at the bottom, and that piece goes right across the spine and pushes VERY painfully against one's spine. It is very difficult to position the massage in the right place when you are sitting up, so I tried it slightly reclining, which felt better, but the slight increase of the pressure of my body made the heads whine and work harder, slowing the rotation considerably. The heat was not very hot. When you have the massager on heat mode, the heads light up red, which is viewable through the mesh covering. I like the counterclockwise motion the best, but I wish it could be used without heat. The instructions depict using the massager sitting up, but nowhere in the instructions does it say you can't recline or lay on top of the massager, so laying down supine should be fair game.The WORST part is, I have had the massager out of the package for only 30 minutes testing it, and it appears to have stopped functioning altogether. I have unplugged it and tried a different outlet, and it still will not work. What a piece of JUNK!
