The hat served its purpose but not quite what I expected. head and I didn't want it to be too loose. The hat fit well on the head, we could tighten it with an elastic band. However, the hat is not very deep. Only about 2 3/4 inches deep. The brims were only about 2 1/4 inches wide, not wide enough to cover most of his neck (he was bent over in the picture). After all, we have the same larger size. Hat for the older daughter and has some nice buttons at the end of each chin strap so you can adjust the length (you can see them on many of the product photos). This little hat (54 cm) had only plastic pins and a small knot on each strap. We managed but were disappointed that they weren't of the same quality as the big hats.
