I use these to cap brake lines, fuel lines and anything that might leak when disconnected. I've used a golf t-shirt before but it's obviously made out of wood so it doesn't shrink or feel tight. These plugs give you a temporary airtight seal that will take very little pressure and stay in place (especially good for fuel lines that tend to drain quite a bit of fuel). An inexpensive solution to a small problem when working with cars.
