Okay, now I LOVE this, but I don't like the initial rinse. After washing it well, the water in my aquarium did not become cloudy. I only noticed some haze after vacuuming the aquarium for the first time. Just change the filters a little more often for the first 5-6 weeks. As for rinsing, I tried a few different ways, but ended up doing it in small batches in a colander in the sink. I actively stirred the gravel during the process, which really helped. MAKE SURE you have something over the drain to prevent small rocks from falling. I used a splash guard which worked great (see photo 3). Cheesecloth in a colander can also work. Of course I don't have a photo of how I ended up washing them, but you can see all the ways that failed!
